# Naming a workflow

`<name>` in `workflows.<name>` means **the name you choose for a workflow**.
It is a free-form placeholder, not a literal YAML key. For example, `deploy`
replaces `<name>` here:

```yaml
workflows:
  deploy:
    steps:
      - name: plan
        command: terraform plan vpc
```

The full configuration path is `workflows.deploy`. Run that workflow with
`atmos workflow deploy`; use `--file` when needed to select a workflow file.
